Why does my piston air compressor need oil?
The moving components of your machine are protected and kept moving smoothly by the piston air compressor oil. Additionally, it assists in the sealing of the piston rings to the cylinder walls. They ensure that the interior of the engine is free of dirt, sludge, varnish, and any other potentially hazardous substances. In the absence of oil, the piston compressor in your machine will produce a great deal of friction, which will speed up the deterioration of your machine.
Why do I need to replace my piston air compressor oil?
One of the most important functions that the piston oil does is to ensure that the engine is clear of dirt and other contaminants. Therefore, it is intended for the oil to become unclean over time and require replacement.
Mineral piston oil needs to be replaced every 1000 working hours. We offer two types of mineral piston compressor oil: our Dynamo Elect with viscosity ISO100 and our Dynamo Elect with viscosity ISO150. With a synthetic blend like our Dynamo Excellent, you need to replace it every 2000 hours.
Why does my rotary vane compressor need oil?
The rotor is equipped with a series of slots that are machined along its length. These slots are designed to accommodate sliding vanes that travel along an oil film. The rotor is free to rotate within the stator, which is cylindrical in shape. The vanes are separated from their slots and individual compression cells are formed as a result of the centrifugal force that is generated during rotation. Rotation reduces the volume of the cell, which results in an increase in the air pressure.
The injection of pressurized vane compressor oil helps keep the heat that is produced by compression under control. The rotor is the only component that is constantly turning; it is directly powered at a very low speed (1,450 revolutions per minute), which offers unrivaled reliability.
The primary advantage of this technology is that vane compressors are incredibly dependable and have been demonstrated to work effectively over an extended period of time.
How much oil do I need to service my rotary vane compressor?
The rotary vane compressor has a simple, efficient and durable mechanism with a smaller amount of moving parts compared to other types of compressors. Compared to the screw air compressor, only a small amount of oil is needed for the lubrication of the rotary vane air compressor because it doesn’t use oil for cooling.
Why do I need to replace the oil of my rotary vane compressor?
Regardless of how much oil your machine needs, the intervals in which you need to change the oil remain the same: after 1000 working hours for mineral oil and 2000 hours for synthetic blends.
